I have a Lowrace unit that will not read the sonar at speeds above 10mph. Do I have a setting incorrect or is the transducer in the wrong place. Im not sure ???

Is the transducer glassed in or transom mounted? If it's transom mounted, it could be in a bad spot or have too much hull turbulence passing by at higher speeds. If it's glassed in and it worked well before, it could be the vibration due to the epoxy coming loose or the transducer might need to be replaced.
Give some details on your setup and I can be more specific.

I currently have it transom mounted in the location shown in the directions. 1/3 from the side down on a 17' deep vee tracker... I can take a picture if needed .... thanks for the imput.

Posting pictures would help too, but here's a few things to try(in the order of easiest first):
1) Drop the transducer down 1/4 of an inch. Aluminum hulls will flex some as pressure increases on the running surface and there could be a "hook" in the running surface as you increase speed which is deflecting the flow of water away from the transducer. Installing a transducer block between the hull and the transducer can give you a bit more offset for "clean water" and allow you to mount the trandsucer higher as well.
2) Check that your transducer cable is not rigged to run along or near the engine-to-cranking battery cable. Electrical noise can interfere with the signal - especially as the alternator output increases.
3) Check the hull surface for welds (or rivets, but I believe your boat is welded?) or anything in front of the transducer which might be causing disturbance. If there are any strakes or other hull objects directly in front of the transducer or slightly offset, you will need to relocate it to an area that is clear of turbulence.
4) Move your transducer further away from the motor. Some deep-v hulls are rigged with quite a bit of negative trim when the motor is all of the way down. This could be causing turbulence as you increase speed as well.
If none of these options work, you might try a different transducer. It's rare, but I've had a bad transducer out of the box which caused me all manner of headaches until I replaced it.
