Hi Guys,
Let's see what kind if response we get here.
Weather for Wednesday as of right now: High, 91 Low, 67 Isolated Thunderstorms possible (again), should know better Wednesday morning.
So, as of right now it looks like this for Lake Orion on Wednesday, July 16th.
Boaters:
Mark - I can also go as a non-boater, especially right now
Joe
Non-Boaters
Eric - can also be a boater
Mark
Sign me up as a non-boater for now. If we need another boater...I can go that way too.
Time and Launch Location?
Thanks
I can't make it Wednesday - coming back from Indiana with my new ETEC. Be back on the water in a week or so.
I'll stop by the ramp toward dark and see how ya'll did. There are some pigs in there - go get em!
I will be out of town also but I have heard good things about Orion this year so I am really disappointed to miss this one. Good luck!
What time works best for everyone?
My vote is to fish from 4-9 pm., but I'm flexible too.
The only launch I know of is at the north end of the lake off Indianwood Road and is operated by the Parks & Rec Bureau. Approx cords are N42 47 412, W83 15 281. According to my book they do charge a fee but it doesn't say how much. If you need a map of the lake let me know and I'll make you a copy.

I haven't fished this lake in a long, long time so if anyone has any tips they'd like to share post them here or PM me.
Thanks, Mark
That time sounds good to me. I haven't fished the lake in years also so I was just going to follow you :)
Being forced to work o.t. wednesday we r down a ton of routes plus still have my stitches in hand from muskie bite last sunday gonna be out of commission till they come out this sunday
4-9 is OK with me...
Let me know by 2pm at teh latest...for sure if I should be a boater...or a non-boater. I've never fished Lake Orion...so I'll be figuring it out with the rest of ya.
Cool,
Eric
Mark,
Does that mean we have 4 - Yourself, Me, Rob and Eric ? I've got my boat so if you bring yours Eric and Rob can come as a non boater.
Joe,
Robs post yesterday says he can't make it so right now it's just the 3 of us. I also need a phone number for you.
Thanks, Mark
Sent you an email.
Hi Guys,
Even though thunderstorms and lightning skirted the area we all managed to stay dry. I figured the fishing would be tough and it was. I only had 3 good bites and managed to land 1 largemouth about 17 inches. The other 2 fish I saw and they were both keeper sized too but came off part way back to the boat. For the short time we fished it I guess I did OK. I was fishing the docks mostly and thats where I had all my bites.
I wouldn't have believed it but I actually saw sunfish or bluegills still on beds in the shallows. I don't think I ever remember that this late in the year. Does anyone know if they spawn twice?
Our next event is on the St Clair River (August 23rd) and should produce some good quantities and quality fish, I hope.
Good Luck Fishing, Mark
those sunfish on that lake will spawn all summer long, haven't quite figured out how or why, but i live on that lake, fish it most every night, you can find them on beds until about labor day. Usually only go after them when i get a good craving for a fish dinner.
