Title: Mercury Marine Service in SE Michigan
Post by: SethV on June 27, 2008, 11:34:58 AM
Hey Guys-

Just wondering in your opinion, who provides the best service & repair to Mercury Outboards in SE Michigan?

Also, does anyone know where I can get the diagnostic software and cable for Merc's?  I found it on line for $2000, but was hoping to find it way cheaper than that.

My ProXS went into "safe mode" last night.  Won't let me have more than about 2000 rpm.  Runs fine at idle and pulls hard up to 2000 rpm and then the computuer rev limits.

Give me a call tomorrow (sat), and I can get a computer hooked up to your motor on sat, or mon.  Just make sure you remember this next time you buy a new boat.

Seth,

Check the lines and cap on your oil reservoir - both engine and in the boat.  A pressure leak is a common reason for "safe mode" to kick in.
