Title: Stolen Gear Alert
Post by: kensho on June 18, 2008, 10:28:25 AM
Last week my garage in Farmington Hills was broken into.  They got a ton of my tackle.
If anyone hears of a Lowrance GlobalMap,  or a Eagle 480 please for sale please PM me.  Most of the other gear is pretty generic.

However I did have a number of custom painted Pop R, and Rapala's that would look 'non stock' to anyone in 'the know.'
As well as Custom Lures Unlimited Top waters, and 5 - LC Wanders from Japan, that no one in MI probably has.

I am not hopeful, but anything would help.

Tip - spend 10 minutes taking pictures of all your Plano's and rods in their racks.  It will save you big time with your insurance company.

Sorry to hear about that.  It's always a chore trying to replace your gear, especially hard to find stuff like custom-painted baits and the  LC Wanders (great baits, I actually have a couple of stashed away).  I'll certainly keep my eyes and ears open for you.

That SUX.  I had some gear stolen recently as well.  Luckily, homeowners covered it.  YOu can never replace everything you lose, but it is nice to have stuff like that covered to replace what you can.

If your interested, i seen recently that landbigfish.com just got a shipment of the LC Wanders in.  I know they are a hard to find item, that might be your best bet if they still have them in stock.

@McCarter - I put the order in with them on Monday!  Thanks for the tip, I am happy not to order through Japan anymore.

I was under the assumption that they quit producing the Wanders.  I have two, bad colors though I think.  One is pink and the other is blue.  I put Mustad long shank hooks on them, and they have a flat action, no real wiggle.  I'm yet to catch a fish on them.  Do you think putting Owner round bends would change the action a little and make it look more realistic?

How are u fishing it?
I use it as a deep water jig/jerk lure.  The action is a tight wiggle on the drop, fish it like a deep water Fluke.
At least that's what I did.

I might try that.  I'll let you know how it goes if I use it at all.

Last week at the One on One Super Qualifier, I had my fire extinguisher stolen and my Class IV throwable stolen.   >:(  Everything else was locked up.  I discovered my throwable and extinguisher stolen when I got stopped by the Wayne County Sheriff boat when entering the No Wake area at Keanes in the Detroit River yesterday June 28, 2008.  I received a ticket from the Deputy for not having these items.   :'(   The Deputy told me to fight the ticket because they were stolen.   :'(  I always keep these things on board as I believe it is "SAFETY FIRST AND FOREMOST!!!!"  He said if I appeared in court with these items he would help me get the ticket waived.  I hope he is true to his word.  So anglers, double check for your safety items before going out.  You never know what "LOW LIFE SCUMBAG" may steal your safety items.  >:(  :'(  >:(  :'(

Man the nerve of some people! can't they buy their own stuff? Gets me worried that when I buy my boat next year I am gonna have to keep every stripped off the boat until the minute I get to the water.
