Title: Bellaire and the North Chain mid June
Post by: TheFishinPollock on June 18, 2008, 07:49:44 AM
Well. It seems to be a mix of pre, going on, and post spawn smallies as of late. Spent the weekend on Bellaire lake and the northern chain consisting of Intermideate , Ellsworth, and Six mile lakes.
Not much but a few small bass and pike off of the northern chain. Water temps were stuck at 70 to 72 degrees. Tossed everything I had at um . Only bites came off of big flash spinnerbaits right off the secondary dropoffs to deep water.

On Bellaire it was a catching spree. Monday was unreal. Put somewheres between 20 and 30 smallies in the boat in a realitivly short 4 hour span. Bright colored spinnerbaits and shallow cranks seemed to be the go to. Fish were of every size. Some small to a half dozen or so 4-6 pounders. Kept two of the midsized fish for a fish fry. They had already spawned out. Their bellies were empty of eggs and flabby. Water temps had dropped from 70 to 66-67 on monday with a cold front that rocketed in.

See ya out there.
