A buddy and I went to Muskegon Lake on Sat. Found lots of fish in marina's, cuts, etc. Most were cruising and making beds - only a handful were really locked on beds. We estimate that we caught 35-40 keepers and a handful of short fish. Most were 2lb to 3 lb largemouth. We did manage to land two smallies between 4-5 lbs, but the smallies were not as plentiful (where we fished at least). Caught a few cruisers on a spinnerbait early. Once we got an idea where they were and what they were doing we did best making long casts (they were spooky with the clear water) with a Zoom Speed Craw and an unbranded finesse worm at/near bedding areas. Tubes, senkos, etc didn't seem to grab their attention that day for some reason. Great way to kick off our season!
