Drove through Kensington yesterday. They are doing a Huge Upgrade to the east launch. Everything that was there is gone. A new ramp at quite a steep angle is in. Looks like they will do slide in docks like DNR uses. Going to make it much easier to launch a boat now.

Long overdue, but I still hate paying so much to get in there.
I hadn't heard a thing about this coming to pass. Thanks for the heads up! Hopefully, they built the ramp so it is easier to launch in different water depths!?! I'm assuming it is about the same size so you can still launch a bunch of boats?
The ramp sits a lot higher than the previous ramp but is at quite an angle. Probably 30 degrees. The water is way down now. It looks like it will be good when the water comes up. The old ramp was pretty flat. Guess we will know in the spring.
Hopefully they didn't make it too much of a ledge to back over? Wonder if they thought to build the ramp farther back in to the lake?? Somehow, we have to help Michigan ramp builders learn about bigger boats and powerloading! If they can do it down south, we can do it up here...
I own a drive on trailer that I cant use w/o getting a ticket... ::) So I have to crank up a 22ft boat that has a 250+ HP on the back... >:( Stupid!
I agree! It's been one of my long-time pet peeves with the way our ramps are generally built... I have hoped before I die to make a difference there. People sure don't want to go along easily though...
This ramp has been really bad for a long time. It made it almost unusable except for the furthest right lane which was a little deeper. This should help a lot. Thanks for letting us know Steve!
