Title: The Year Of The Pike.
Post by: dartag on June 17, 2017, 03:16:35 PM
Not sure what is going on but I have caught more Pike this year than any other year.   Fished Oakland today and caught 9 Pike in 6 hours.   Got bit off quite a few times.  They have been Big Pike too.  Today I had 3 that were over 6 pounds easy.  Thinking I am going to start throwing a Red Daredevil and maybe the Bass will bite it.

Hopefully you were fishing soft plastics and not some of your favorite hard baits. That could be expensive along with annoying.....

I agree... the pike are out of control this year... I don't know why?? As I've mentioned in other places, I'm even catching lots of pike from lakes I may not have caught a pike from in years...?? Secret pike cartel at work?!?

At one point I had both drop shot rods a waky rig rod and Jig rod bit off or needed re-rigging.   Had to sit down and retie everything.
