Here is the latest info for MBI 2008. Rob and I were at the meeting today, and this looks like it will be a fun event to wind down the season. IT is the 3rd Sunday in September - I know that may not be a good day for everyone, but with enough planning....
some of the details:
Sunday 9/21 7 till 4
Lake St. Clair - Harley ramp
We send 4 boats - 4 co-anglers
5 fish limit per boat
all legal open water
Highest total team weight wins
Total cost - $125 per Club (<$16 each), includes sub/pizza at wiegh in
Winning team picks the lake for next year
rules file is too big to attach. I'll have copies a the next club meeting.
Since we moved our club date to accommodate, I should be in for this one.
If someone were to twist my arm a little bit, I could be persuaded.
If we have more than the 8 required, perhaps we should do some sort of tie breaker based on some criteria.
Maybe something like club participation or something.
I don't know. It's just a thought, just in case.
For a tie breaker, how 'bout a boat race? :D :D
What is the "prize" at this event? Bragging rights or is there a payout?
A boat race? That's not fair! Who can compete with the brand new 250 ProXS? I see right through you my friend. he he he ;D
I thought it was a 100% payout??
Fiker: (Twist, twist, twist) what do ya say now?
I will fish it if you don't get the 8...Either Boater or Non...If you do I have no problem stepping down, because I already have a pretty full tourney schedule in September....
I'm in any 1 need a partner yet? lol
i'm derrek, the mbi tournament director this year.
the tournament is for bragging rights. each member of the 8 man/woman team wins a plaque, and the team gets their club name on a large trophy that gets passed around from year to year. there is an optional $10 money pot at the check in, that almost everyone gets into, so if all 32 boats get into the pot, there will be $320, where 75% goes to big stringer, and 25% to big fish. so, no big money, if you win, it just pays for your tank of gas, derrek
Thanks for the clarification Derrek. Lookin' forward to fishing it.
