Title: The snow and ice is melting
Post by: dmills4124 on March 14, 2008, 10:42:47 AM
I know I should not be starting rumors, I know gossip is bad, I know dream interpritation is bogus. But I thought I saw some snow and ice melting.

I have to add, This is like being 7 Y/O the night before Christmas as a kid. The waiting is mind numbing But the excitement is wonderful.
Witch is worse? Waiting for a pot to boil or waiting for iceout?

Without a doubt, ice out.
I can always microwave for hot water.

Was just practicing my flipping in the driveway.  As per McCarter's directions, I practiced in the house most of the winter.   Now it's time for distance, and for accuracy!    ..... Still working on that, but hey, at least I'm outdoors now.

Not up here by TC it ain't. Still have at least 2 feet of ice on most of the lakes.    I'd love to see it go, but we are getting tons of 12 + inch perch by the bucketfulls and some huge pike.  I really hate to  give that up just yet.   Plus my boat is downstate getting some new toys put on it, so I can't use it for a few more weeks anyhows.

If your talking Tawas City up by Saganaw Bay thats 367 mis north of me. Man we'ld love to have a weekend of fishing like that. But I'll have to be content in watching it on Beat Charlie Moore. Love that ESPNHD. Just spent another chunk on electronics for the baby, I mean the boat. Next side scan, then kicker, then powerpole or poles and then and then and then. Gotta stop I just outspent my yearly income there fro 2 years in 20 seconds. Gotta be cabin fever. Anyone seen the new Cabela's Catalog yet. what a wish book.

My boat is all set and ready to go.  Equipment is on board.  Batteries are on board and charged.  Everything is go for ice out.  All I have to do is pull it out of the garage and start it in the driveway with the rabbit ears.  Problem............the ice is not melting fast enough!!!!!   :o

half the ponds around me are without ice now, so I am going to go down next week and start my pitching and dragging practice looking for some hungry fish.  Well, until the rest of southern Lake Michigan thaws, then it's smallie heaven, here we come!!!!!!!

I always worry about what is coming down the Detroit River from St. Clair.  As soon as there is no ice on St. Clair, then it will be pretty good on Erie.

Farmers Almanac reads;for region 6 which is southern Wis, Mi, Northern Ill,In, Oh, Pa and NY.
Mar 25-28 T-storms, Very warm. 29-31 sunny, seasonable
April 1-9 Rain and SNOW showers, then sunny, cool. 10-18 T-storms, warm, then cool. 19-22 sunny, seasonable. 23-26 rain to SNOW, then sunny, cool. 27-30 T-storms,warm.  Thats it for the snow for this 2007-2008 winter season. Yippie!!  Looks like it is going to be a below average summer for presip. Could we have a warm dry fishing season this year?
Please Fishing Gods, Give us something to sniffle about. LOL
Hope I didn't infringe on anything here. Just wanted to brighten everyones day.
Smile, It's almost over.
