Title: BASS Elites on Harris Chain
Post by: Dan on March 06, 2008, 11:13:46 PM
What, nobody watched the weigh in today? KVD was 56 or so. 20 lbs. leads it.

I can't believe Mark Davis is only worth 4 bucks/points.  He's the steal of the year...

If you're interested in any of the links to the BASS Elite event or the Stren Event down in Mountain Home, Arkansas, (Home of the BassCat Owners Invitational) I have them on my daily blog on teardropbass.com

After Day 2 on the Harris Chain KVD is in 43rd place. It's all about the points now.

I know it is only the second day but Guy Eaker is in 10th place.  Wow that is incredible for a guy that is 90+ years old!!!!  He must have taken an extra hit of Centrum Silver this morning!  ;D

I know, I should be nice, but I just can't.

Top twelve that will fish tomorrow on the Harris Chain.

Brian Snowden
Mike McClelland
Bobby Lane
Dean Rojas
Chris Lane
Mark Menendez
Steve Kennedy
Morizo Shimizu
Rick Ash
Kenyon Hill
Todd Faircloth
Bradley Hallman

Mark Davis tied with Faircloth and Hallman, but lost out on a tie breaker. Snowden takes a 10 lb. lead into the finals. The next four anglers are all in the low 40s and have to have a big fish tomorrow. Today they had huricane type winds. Not really but 35 mph. Tomorrow the winds are suppose to sit down and they will be back sight fishing. Snowden has to be a favorite regardless of the big lead, because he's been the most consistent.

2 of my 5 have moved up to fish tomorrow.  Good, my numbers should improve a little.  KVD though, should of left him on the burner and went with Snowden like I originally had picked.  Well, that's second guessing for you.

I wish there were about 30 more Guy Eaker's out there in the Pro Fishing ranks, "that guys is first class!"  I would love to see him win a big event!!!

Your right bigjc.  At the 2006 Classic I sat right in front of Guy and Paul Elias.  They were both nice to talk with.  He is almost 70.  I would think it would be a little tough to fish a 4 day tournament.

Have I missed something or screw up?  Jeff Coble is 23rd on the "Who picked Whom" list and as far as I can tell he isn't fishing.  I thought that if you could pick an angler on the list they were entered in the tournament.

I picked Velvick last year and he was in no shape to do any fishing.  I think you can pick them and they count even if they have to bow out before it all starts.

Could have pulled out.  Coble fished the Classic.  I was wondering if somebody at BASS just forgot to pull his name off the list.  On the other hand, you are probably right.  Maybe he decided to fish the Elites  (for the first time, I think) and couldn't come up with the cash...or something.  I know that his name on my results lists shows a line of dashes.    :(

Any body else think the photography on the BASS site has been really spectacular lately.
They have had some great pictures from the Harris Chain event. 15 minutes to live weigh in.
