I was just wondering how the bass fishing is there in the spring and summer months,. Also has anyone heard of snow lake in that area, I think it's a small no wake lake I might have a chance to fish it this summer and wondering how the fishing is? ???
The Flat River State Game Area is huge. Like 40 square miles give or take. There are lots of little puddle lakes (and they all have about 10 different names, depending on who you ask) in it, but not really any with improved ramps. I can't really tell you much about them as far as bass fishing.
The Flat River is there, and there is some smallie fishing there, but nothing spectacular. The only stretch that is really fishable by bass boat is in Belding. You can fish down to the dam, or upstream 1/2 mile maybe. All told, about 1.5 miles of river I'm guessing. All shallow and not real productive.
Long Lake borders it, but is not really in it, and it has a nice ramp and decent fishing.
Snows Lake is a small lake, OK fishing, but the ramp is nothing more than a spot where the gravel road widens to the lake edge basically. You can launch a tin boat with 4 whell drive, not sure about anything else. If you're talking about the one on Snows Lake Rd just east of M-66. I don't think it is no wake, but I don't think it's big enough to get on plane. There is a pretty large campground right across the street form the lake.
Otherwise, there are tons of lakes in the area, some with fantastic fishing.
I know a guy that throws his tin boat in at Fallsburg Park and fishes down to the dam north of Lowell. He does pretty well on small mouth with a few large mouth almost anytime of year. He seems to do quite well when the water is cold.

Thank you for the info, that is the snow lake I was talking about. I have a 16 ft lowe fishing boat, but it sounds like I will only need my kickboat.
