Let's hope his pattern holds up one more day and he comes away with the win.  That would be awesome!!

It is so cool to see guys from Michigan going down south and showing those Southern boys how to catch them!  8)  Hopefully he can hold out for one more day.

I noticed that besides Jonathon, there is also another angler from Kalamazoo.  Coincidence? I think not...

JVD ended up in third place as Peter T. came from behind and weighed 26lbs. to win with a total of 55lbs 3oz.  JVD weighed 7lbs 10 oz today to finish with a total of 47lbs 13oz for his third place finish.  Second place went to Jerry Stalvey, Jr. with 51lbs 5oz.  Third place is a very respectable finish although you really shouldn't be surprised that Peter T. would win on his home waters.  I sure wasn't.

He is probably not going to give his nephew any more tips.  Remember they say JVD's Dad RVD is better than KVD.  I think it runs in the family.  JVD could be better than KVD.  Time will tell.  It will all be down to consistency.

Randy is a very good tournament angler. He fishes somewhat different than Kevin, but is always extremely successful when he fishes tournaments... or just for fun, as evidenced by his 9 1/2 pound Ohio state record smallmouth. Supposedly, Kevin is better with deer, but I have never asked either one of them. Randy is humble though, so he'd probably say Kevin was better anyway. :)

A guy I know did some carpet work at KVD's home several years ago... said there really aren't any fish on the walls... just deer!!

RVD, KVD, JVD sure do have one big advantage going for them... a BIG store to choose their baits from!!  LOL!!
