For the distance I drove out to lake Michigan itself from GT Bay. The weather was perfect!

Enjoy that when you can!
What can you catch that far out?
forgive the newbie question, I am still learning.
I was over a hump about 10 miles north of the bay mouth. There are lots of sunken islands out that way. You'll find smallies , perch , lakers and kings out that way.
I've crossed Lake Michigan several times, going from Muskegon to Milwaukee. Tradition is to stop half way and go swimming. The water is as clear as it can possibly get way out there! You literally cannot dive off the boat and go deep enough that the other's can't still see you.
Did you catch anything out there?
Just a few. I ended up long lining for lakers
