Went out to Belleville after my son's soccer game. I did a little running and gunning. The upper part of the lake was relatively clear. I managed one small largemouth off the first spot I fished on a crankbait. I then went up the river to the Rawsonville Road Bridge and managed to catch another small largemouth on the same crankbait. I then went all the way up to the Ford Lake Dam. Fished all that moving water up there and caught nothing. I then moved to creek channel inlets and caught nothing. I then when to one more spot and fished a breakwall out to the end of a point and blanked there. Water temp on the lake was 64 degrees. The water on the lower part of the lake was a lovely shade of green. Led me to believe whether or not the lake would be at its fall's best this year with the late algae blooms. Up near the Ford Lake dam I noticed that the water was clear but had that algae "stuff" running out of Ford and into Belleville. Tough day there. Looking forward to Erie tomorrow.

This weekend was a strange weekend. From St Clair Saturday morning, Cass Lake Saturday night and hearing from the boys on Cass Lake the next day - it sounds about the same. ALLOT of fish sighted on the bottom, staring at your bait. ALLOT of fish breaking the surface, but not fetching the standard top water bait. There has got to be a reason other than their bellies are so full of Shad they cant move !
Im going to sllloooowww way down.
