Hey, some of you may already know, or you just want it real bad (maybe you bought it yourself!!!)!! What do you think (or know) Santa is bringing you this Christmas?
I'm probably getting some gift cards so I can pick out whatever I want at the time I visit the various stores.
6 Weeks in Florida starting late January. All I need.
That's going to be tough to beat!
motorguide x5 :o
Get the xi5. I've heard it's pretty amazing for the big lake - spot lock, track jog, etc.
The XI5 is about the same as the Minn Kota Terrova. My buddy had a brand new one at the CFB championship. Worked great for 4 days. The contour track and hold feature were nice. Unfortunately on the last day the motor would not boot up. The control module in the head was the problem. No way to manually deploy it or make it work. Left us onshore while everyone went fishing.
I think wireless, non-cable steer TM are an acquired taste. Personally, I hate them having used one.

That sucks... need a back up of some kind then. I still like the wire/cable steering models too. I ran a remote steer one in someone's boat this year (forget where?) and it would definitely take a while for this old dog to get used to it.
trolling motors take way too much of a beating for all the electrical stuff in the xi5, ive been waiting for the cable version and now its out

Only thing we could have done was have a new control module. I also like my old cable steer models. I have extra cables, foot switch controller and wiring. I talked to a guy in Florida last winter with a new Ranger Z-21 with a Tiller Steer trolling motor. He said in the big lakes with the nasty weeds he uses a tiller. He said the cables will break when stuck in the big weeds. I think Vince uses a tiller steer.
I never have much of a list, but I saw a some unnamed online tackle company* Box arrive at the house the other day so I'm thinking my wife got me some stuff I have been talking about. Either that or I've started ordering tackle on-line in my sleep. Regardless, new tackle has arrived at my house, so its going to be a good Christmas ;D.
(* please no mentioning on here of my least liked online company I never spend a penny at because they will not offer me fair exchange for the traffic referrals that they get from said mentions - thank you and enjoy your tackle anyway)

I put a Terrova on the last boat. It was the cat's butt (:) )
I also had the best year fishing tournaments that year. Spent allot more time fishing then worrying about boat control
The current boat is kind of odd that It has a factory removable mount on it. but it's a cable steer
I plan to buy a Terrova and keep the cable steer. And then I'll have the choice on what to use on that day
