Hi Guys
I am taking my dad bass fishing up north in a couple of weeks. We would like to fish Douglas Lake, but had problems with the poor boat launch a few years ago- raised concrete and bottom blown away so there was steep drop. It's my understanding that the launch has been improved? Can anyone comment regarding this. Thanks!
Smally1,
I was there last evening and the launch is basically the same however the water is not as low as it sometimes can be and Maple Bay Marine put in a courtesy dock. I put my Stratos 201 in and had no problems whatsoever. By the way the fishing was very very good, you're going to have fun. I caught them on everything I threw. Spinnerbaits, rattlebaits, Jerkbaits, spooks, buzz baits, tubes and dropshots. 50-50 mix between elmo's and smallies, and some Pike.
Thanks bwebber! Where were you catching them?
Is the parking still squirrelly? Haven't been there in a number of years.
What is an 'elmo?'
Smally1,
Catching the smallies on the inside and outside weed edges. The Largemouth/elmo's were in the weeds, caught them on topwater and buzzbaits. I went again Thursday night and caught a bunch with the wife, but when the clouds rolled in it killed the bite. Tuesday night I caught over forty and Thursday night I caught sixteen in three hours. The parking is still the same as always, just try to get a decent spot on the side of the road.
