Family members may be able to fish together. Please contact me directly by PM (http://www.greatlakesbass.com/forum/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=1), phone 810-433-BASS (2277) or email (http://glbass.com/contact) to arrange this. I would prefer family members 18 and older be a registered member of GreatLakesBass.com. I will not request that of family members under 18 and prefer not to have family members under 13 register due to federal regulations. If you have a family member that wants to fish but not be a member, please just contact me privately prior to the event. Youth 17 years or younger must be participating with a parent or legal guardian. Exceptions to this will need to be discussed with me in advance. Use the contact information above.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Nonboaters please bring life jackets to make sure we have enough. Life jackets must be worn zipped and/or buckled whenever the gas motor is running. Boater must use working kill switch when gas motor is running.
No live bait, artificials only. A Golden Rule courtesy board will be available at the weigh in. You can use your own weigh in bag. This is an event where we want to see everyone catch some fish!
This event is all about everyone catching some fish, having fun and getting to know each other, and also to honor the memory one of our greatest members - David MadWags Wagensomer!!! Thank you for being members of GreatLakesBass.com.
If you have anything new or like new you'd like to donate for prize giveaways, please contact (http://glbass.com/contact) me.
Post that you are attending, and if attending as a boater or nonboater in this thread please. It is easier for me to keep track if your status is in this thread. Thanks!
If you can, please post in this thread confirming that you are still coming and your boater/non-boater status.
Also, I will need a weigh in scales and weigh in equipment to borrow from someone please.
Also, can someone familiar with the boat ramp situation tell me which boat ramp we should use, where it is and the parking - tournament weigh in situation please? Thanks!!
I'm in as a boater. We will want to use the south ramp. Plenty of room there. I will get an address and post it for everyone. Let me make a call for a scale and such. I think I can make it happen.
I'm in as a boater. Agree with Mike on the south ramp. Parking lot is gravel, but there's more room than the north ramp.
The scale and a tank are covered.

With the opener of bow season, and the vacation time others have put in, I'm having a hard time finding coverage for this day. I don't think I'm going to be able to make it this year. Just in case, I'd look for a scale to use. Sorry.
Yes. I'll need a weight scale from someone to borrow please?
If you signed up in the old thread can you please confirm you are still planning on coming in this thread? Otherwise I start PM'ing people to confirm. I still need a weight scale to use if someone has one I can borrow? Thanks!
I'm in as boater.

Just found out about that today. I've never heard of them and apparently not too many I know familiar with them since it wasn't pointed out to me until today by anyone..? Told there's plenty of parking for us both. There's not many saying they'll be there for the MadWags but I'll be there regardless. They're launching earlier of course so that alleviates that. No idea when they're coming in but it shouldn't be different than any other ramp with other boaters for us.

You were already in on THIS thread. So now I'm counting you twice! ;D
Have room for 1 non-boater tomorrow at the MadWags Fremont Lake.
How did it go. Hope no one got sunburned.
Winburn was the more likely outcome. Possibly duck-burned for the 2 guys who started duck season early out there at the same time.
Don't know how the other small tournament did out there. I only saw 1 other bass caught by someone else during the 'breezy' day.
Genie, won fishing with basshooker, with 2 keepers while I fished with Slipkey for 2nd place with 1 keeper (we just showed them, didn't weigh them). Our 2 bite offs didn't count since they are toothy critters (mine anyways). We caught 1 other dink and that was it. Still, it was fishing which is better than not fishing. Tough day on the lake but it is an interesting lake I will have to go back to in the future.
Good job all. I do beleive that was the nastiest 5 days we have had in a long time. North to Northeast winds every day with rain. Good thing is it should cool the water and get the fish feeding.
I bet no snow or freezing rain/hail like last year either.
No snow. No freezing rain or hail. I did almost get blown out of the boat on one particularly strong gust though. And there was the excitement of watching the early duck hunters possibly losing all their equipment... glad the CO was there for someone else! whew!

What happened there?
2 guys duck hunting in a boat with a full spread of decoys and 3 dead mallards ... telling the CO they didn't know the season wasn't open yet .... as the CO was looking at guns, bullets, confiscating birds, etc.
Yeah... whoops. The one guy said he thought the other guy was keeping track of the season.
I always say every angler (and hunter) needs to know all the regulations, all the time.
As a duckhunter exttrodnare of no world renowned.
There is no excuse to be out a week early. Plus when ya don't see other guys setting up at 5:00 am. there is something wrong
I was a little surprised there was only 1 duck blind if it was opening weekend but then it is South and there are a bunch of houses on much of the lake, and I've never been to Fremont before. I didn't know if it was opening day or not. Just assumed it must be until I saw the CO watching from the boat ramp.
Once I gladly figured out he wasn't watching us I got suspicious that something was wrong. We discussed it and decided they must not be in season, which was the case when we got in to shore. Not a great way to start out your season for sure.
Thanks again to Slipkey for letting me spend the day in his boat!
