Title: This is what it's all about...
Post by: BassinGT on July 03, 2007, 03:48:09 PM
Just wanted to share this little story with everyone.

I took my 4 year old daughter out on the boat for the first time the other day. She was so excited to catch her first fish because she loves all animals. When she caught one it was the coolest thing in the world. As soon as I was done taking the hook out of its mouth my daughter snatched the fish out of my hand and held it up like a pro. She immediately named it "Lovie Lovie" and told me we had to find her sister "Louise". Well... we never found Louise that day but now we have something to look forward to on our next trip.

It was truly amazing to experience that with my daughter. If you could only see the excitement in her little face. I will never forget it and I hope she doesn't either.

Have a great 4th and be safe out there!

-Gary

Great story Gary...I've taken my soon-to-be three-and-a-half year old daughter out a few times and she has had a ball.

I had my 9 y.o. son out in an NBAA tourney on BIg lake monday night - cool thing happened - he was throwing a horny toad in the lilly pads, without a bite - as he cranked it at full speed back to the boat - a bass hits it about 5 feet away and hooked itself - he reeled it all the way up to the eyelet, and stated doing  figure eights with the fish over his head - fish was on a carnival ride beofre it came off 2 minutes later.

He was having the time of his life - thats what its all about!

good thing it woldn't have kept - would have moved us from 4th close to first for the night!
