I worry about this all the time and Keep America Fishing has a simple way to get involved:

Ask your Congressmen to support legislation that amends the Renewable Fuel Standard to stop dangerously high amounts of ethanol from being allowed in gasoline.
As an angler, I am often casting off of a motorized boat of some kind, therefore changes to gasoline content affect me. Blends of ethanol over ten percent cause serious damage to small engines and to older model vehicles, and these damages are not covered under warranty. The increase in ethanol causes the engines to run at a much higher temperature. Additional increases in ethanol allowances in the fuel supply also carry serious environmental concerns. Corn production requires significantly more water than most other crops and leads to greater runoff of nutrients and other pollutants into watersheds. Environmental degradation impacts fish populations and aquatic habitat that I rely on to be healthy for recreation.
