Ok - apparently the field is starting to grow and the buzz is out that this will be an AWESOME tournament. I can't wait to donate my money to see some monster fish brought ot the scales. :)
From what I can tell now, weather will be partly cloudy in AM and sunny in PM, 82/65 for temps, wind SE 5-10. I'm sure that will change - this is Michigan after all.
What are some predictions on what it will take to win and which water way the winning sack will come from (St Clair River, St Clair, Detroit River, Erie, etc.)?
-Genie
22 TO WIN 19 TO GET A CHECK. Theres mine
Are they still using St. Jeans to launch?
Yes - St Jean's is the official launch/check-in site.
Is there a Google or Map Quest set of directions to St. Jeans?
From east or west on I-94:
Exit at exit 220B (Conner St. - City Airport Exit).
Go south on Conner for approx 2.5 miles to Clairpointe (just south of Jefferson Ave.).
Stay right on Clairpointe (continue south) for .3 miles to Freud St.
Turn right on Freud, go west for .5 miles to St. Jean.
Turn left on St. Jean, go south to boat launc
closer to 24lbs to win but 18 something to check.
Thanks for the directions Wags
24.75 is what I weighed yesterday in 2 hours of prefishing. If my fish do not move or shrink than Squid's prediction will pan out. ;D

You can only weigh in 5 not 12! ;D :D ;D :D
MadWags,
24.75 ? You must have been sandbagging on Sunday with your 20.70 ;)
That was the most expensive 2nd place plaque I've ever received.
joshimoto son ;D
WIth the way it has been recently, let's put a new spin on the betting game. How about who will run the farthest and how far will it be?
I say someone will run over 80 miles.
80 miles one way ill be close
24.75 if madwags catches those he should win
Just a reminder if you are fishing the FLW TOUR event you can not participate in this event unless your partner is also in the tour event if you do you will be dqed and you will lose your 800 bucks co and to much boater money to mention
Jeff cox

Ohio is closed for another week, right?
Ohio opens June 30th.
I hope everyone is safe and has fun no matter how far they go or what they catch. I know I plan on having a blast!!
See some of you tomorrow - good luck ... for 2nd that is ... ;D
Don't worry about me. My fish moved. :'(
I have to change my game plan or pray for my fish to show up. ::) The east wind mudded my area. :-\'
I caught maybe 17 tonight.
See you at the weigh-in. ;D
I met some big sticks at the ramp tonight. :o
My money is on Madwags. Fished the DK Open with him and the guy can catch fish! Good luck to all. I'm envious.
Sorry guys. only weighed 16.17 :(
Had a great time though. :)
First time I ever carried a bag of fish through a carnival (fair). ;D
Jason and I fished well. We only lost one fish that would have improved our limit.
Had a limit by 10:00am. Saw lots of big fish but could not get them to bite.
Our big fish spot gave up a limit early but the size was not there.
Mike Trombly put a huge bag of river fish together that went 21.55 beating out the 21.35 second place team.
Awesome tournament.

Well it is a good thing you didn't fish the Bassin Bums & Babes Tournament this past Sunday. Team MadWags captured another first place finish with some impressive patterns. Rattle trap, jerk bait, drop shot. . . And did I mention none of our keepers came on tubes. All you guys dragging tubes should speed it up.
Thanks Tournament winner and Contractor Extrodinar.
You Partner,
Jay-Mad
Good job guys...sorry the fish weren't there for ya. I wish I could have gone out. But did enjoy what I got to see.... :o...wont go there...lol.
We still have not heard from boat 83 as of Sunday morning. Their truck and trailer were still at the launch when we left....30-45 minutes after all the boats were in. Hope everything was/is ok. I left 2 messages on a voice mail.
If anyone knows Jay Andrews of Coldwater area or Paul Sica...please tell them to call NBAA to let them know they are ok.
How many boats were there and how much to get a check?
My prediction was pretty close. I called 22
I think there was 105 boats. Dartag was the last boat, which he drew 125, but i heard him say there was only 105.
Anyway, the cut off for a check was 17.62 lbs. CastnBlast and I weighed in 16.72. We had a great day, boating several cookie cutter 3.25 lbers but just couldnt connect with the bigger fish. we kept it simple, fishing only 3 areas and beating them up pretty hard. Skip had been on them gooooood prefishing, getting 20 - 22lbs each time out, but come tournament day, his fish had taken off. LIke team MadWags, we fished very good. I dont recall missing any fish. At least nothing that would have helped us. The tube bite later in the day was funny. You really had to be patient with them to hook them. They would follow the bait for a long time, giving little nips here and there, but you really had to wait until they had it, if you set the hook too early, they wouldnt come back for another. We caught onto this quick and had some last minute heroics boating our biggest fish of the day and culling out another.
All in all, NBAA did a great job. Wish i could say the same about the city volunteers. they had us driving all over creation trying to get into the parking lot for weigh in.
Skipper, thanks for taking a poor white kid out fishing.
McCarter himself :-\'
Here is what I posted on another site:
While you all were out enjoying yourselves...lol...I was looking over the boat numbers....We had numbers to 125 and had 104 boats show up.
I was thankfull to see the launch take off at 8am. Took 2 1/2 hours to get all the boats in the water in the morning.
I am sorry about the conjestion in the afternoon though. I did not know they had an open gate on the other side of the fence line. Had everyone used the same way to come back into the rampsite with the trailer.....all thing would have gone smoother. All in All...everyone did a great job of waiting for their directions and index cards. We only had 4 fish come in dead...so out of 104 boats...that is AWESOME!!!
I do hope they find a better launch site for next year...I would also like to fish it next year...lol.
Thanks to all of you for not complaining about the launch site problems...lol. That was the first time I have ever seen a fence in the middle of a parking area like that....lol. Cudo's to Detroit for opening up that back area for us all.
I do want to know if anyone ended up with a flat? That second parking place we all had to go to, didn't look to favorable for the tires...lol.
I had a very enjoyabable time with all of you, and hope to do it again sometime soon if not in the future.
OK...I JUST GOT AHOLD of Jay Andrews(boat 83). They ended up stuck on Erie with a dead battery. Got a jump and got back to the ramp at 8pm that night. He appoligized for not calling anyone back that night, or any night...lol. But Jay and Paul are back and fine.
How many more days would ou let them float around before you sent help????
jk, good job staying on top of that one.
If they are on fish...why interrupt them....lol. He told me they both left their phones in the truck. On Erie.....how not smart is that? :-X
