I went out and purchased my Canadian fishing license today. They are by calendar year - which is nice compared to the March to March for Michigan. Can you tell I'm anxious to get winter over and start the season?
One thing I found new this year is they offer a THREE year license. They didn't offer a discount but I like the convenience of doing it less often and now being good until the end of 2017. The downside is I'll have to remember to renew then. I don't expect to move and plan to stay on the fishing circuit through then (or I would have bought the newer boat).
Just thought I'd let you know of the new option.
I get mine every year on line. They offered the 3 year option last year on line. That's where I first saw it. You then print the license to your home printer. I usually don't get mine until bass season opens. I opt for the yearly just for the reason of remembering to do it. My luck would be to forget. Easier for me to remember by mid June yearly. I usually hit the south shore of St. Clair that opening weekend in Canada.
Honestly, I am as anxious as you are to get out there. I'm hoping the ground hog doesn't see his shadow for that early spring. Great info to know. Thanks for sharing it with all the forum.

I'm at work right now but will try to remember to put it up when I get home. You can Google "Ontario Fishing License" and find it that way.

If anyone does not know, you have to have the Outdoors Card first which you renew every three years - you can start at the shortcut URL: ontario.ca/outdoorscard (http://ontario.ca/outdoorscard) for all your Ontario fishing and hunting needs including links to more information and to purchase online.
For everything you need to know about Ontario fishing including links to the Outdoors Card, fishing licenses, fishing rules, zone maps including a new to fishing wizard link, check out: http://www.ontario.ca/travel-and-recreation/fishing
How many of you get a walpool lic. I am thinking about fishing the BFL
Had one every year I fished as a co angler and never went there. If you are fishing as a co you should get one.
If you fish the BFL you should get one. If not you can pass on it. Just don't fish inside their territory. You also need the Ontario license to fish Walpole too but most people buy that anyway.
Don't buy the Conservation license for Ontario if you're fishing BFL. You can only have 3 bass in possession with that license in Ontario waters, and that would affect Walpole also since it is also part of Ontario for regulations (unless you're part of the tribe).
