Radioactive water leaked into Tennessee River from nuclear plant

As much as 200 gallons of radioactive water leaked from the Brown’s Ferry Nuclear Plant last week, and officials from the Tennessee Valley Authority believe it could have migrated into the nearby Tennessee.

The plant is located on the north shore of Alabama’s Wheeler Lake, one of the state and region’s most popular sport fishing destinations.

But while many have voiced environmental concerns, TVA says the water has been highly diluted and has found no evidence of increased radiation levels.
