Doesn't appear that they are sponsors anymore???
I asked Dan about this too during the show, as I was messing with his fishing setups in booth. Seemed they also pulled out of the show the last couple years too. I'll let Dan explain the details.
Like any sponsor advertiser, most expect a reasonable return from their support of this website or any other business or group. Grandt Rods canceled their sponsor advertising last March due to what they felt was a lack of enough interest in their products from the members and visitors of this website.
I've lost several advertisers for the same reasons. It's always important to GreatLakesBass.com (any website, group or business), and much appreciated, whenever members and visitors give the companies that support this website an equal chance to earn their business. And when you do it's very important to mention you found them on GreatLakesBass.com. I greatly appreciate those of you who have been able to do so, and especially those of you who have thanked any of the sponsor advertisers (most long term listed on the sponsors page (http://www.greatlakesbass.com/sponsors/)). It really makes a huge difference for me and this website!
I do not know their exact expectations but they did not seem unreasonable from what I know from my discussions with owner Jim Grandt. I still own and use a number of Grandt Rods. Several are my favorite rods for various techniques. I would consider still buying them in the future if my budget and need matches their catalog.
I understand they will be at the Ultimate Sport Show Grand Rapids again in March. I will swing by and say hello like I did last year, and check out the latest Grandt Rods as I always do.
In addition, I sometimes get new advertisers directly as a consequence of one of you mentioning GreatLakesBass.com or referring them to me, and I greatly appreciate that too! Thank you!
Well when one door closes, another may open. Coming soon, we may have another Rod maker...... You will be pleased. The same wonderful Paraya and XLH reserve power rod technology 'could' become available to GLB members again. Working on it ;D
