Every bass angler should read this and learn from it...

Sometimes the best laid plans go awry and I hope I can be as good a man as Joe Balog.
I've never met Joe Balog, but I'd like to. This man's got it. He understands. I respect a man like that. He appreciates those things that are most important in this life and is thankful for them.
Competitive? Sure, he has to be to be the fisherman that he is. His priorities however are dead on. That which is most important isn't at the end of a fishing line.
Well said Mr. Balog. My hat's off to you. Stay strong in the path that you are on. It is the right path.
That's a pretty impressive right up. I wondered what was going on in his head as he prepared to talk to Chad. Now I know.
I fished a BFL with Joe and had other opportunities to talk to him......He seems like a good guy....
I think I know who the "Mentor" is that he speaks of.........I haven't heard much of him lately and sure miss seeing his results...
Nice read
It's only fishing for Money. No need to worry
Awesome read... It should make all of us think. ;)
A great read. This year I have stopped worrying about doing any tournaments and I feel like it has made me love fishing even more. I was definitely getting caught up in too much extra bs that can come with this sport and needed to get back to just enjoying the great things that come with a day on the water
I do like the competitiveness of a tourney, but I'd much rather fun fish than be so serious about my fishing or even work that hard. Up until the last couple years I never carried a net. Didn't want it taking up room in the boat. Sure, I might not get my hands on a big fish that comes off at the boat...... but I was gonna turn it loose anyway. :)
