Sorry this is a little late.
From May 6-9th I went up to Cadillac /Mitchell the Bass were still off there beds I seen only three on there beds.
What I did find out is they liked a Manns frog in greenpumpkin and chartreuse which was surprising since the water was 57 degrees I haven't used a frog in that temp ever I wanted to try something different.
Another bait that worked was the medium size jointed rapala in the perch style by just casting it out there letting it sit and twitching it a couple times
That is a great body of water. Did you have more success on Cadillac or Mitchell?
I had more success in the Big Cove in the undeveloped part=swamp area
I lived in Cadillac for 8 years and won many a Tournament on those Lakes. This is one of my favorite bodies of water but they have been down in recent years.
The spawn is almost always still going when the season opens on Memorial weekend. Big Cove is a great place to fish for the largies and one of my favorite locations but the smallies are where it's at on those lakes.
