Long story short, I'm taking over the old TM that was on BSHANER's boat.
The Minn Kota Maxxum 101 needed a complete overhaul after we tried to fix it.
I talked to John yesterday at 2:50pm and he gave me a firm price on the complete rebuild, and at 8:30am this morning he called and told me it was ready to pick up.
Now that's fast!
The best part is the cost to rebuild (new circuit board, rea-stat and plastic base) was only 25% of the cost of a new TM.
John REALLY prides himself on service and a 24 hour turn around. He is definately worth going to even if you live on the other side of the state.
Now I just don't know what to do with it. It's not a direct replacement for the 74 lb Minn Kota that's currently on my boat.
Thanks EBOND for the info.

Ya, this guy is awesome. Great job, Eric, posting this up on the site. I would recommend this guy any day of the week. He ended up selling me a brand new Maxxim 101 pro with the lift assist and extra long shaft for 900.00. That's one heck of a steal. He even helped me put the TM on the boat and let me use his tools NO CHARGE.
His house and shop are right on the shoreline of Anchor Bay. He recounted several stories of guys calling him with emergencies out on the water needed their TM fixed in a hurry. He'd be having a BBQ in his swim trunks and tell them to pull right up to the house and have them fixed in an hour and back on the water.
So if you are out on Clair and your TM goes bad you need to remember this guy's number. 8107945951. Keep it in your wallet. If he's got the parts he'll make the time.
10 thumbs up for this guy.
Again, great catch, Eric!
