We are probably going to be taking a week vacation in the Burt / Mullet area. Two questions. Does anyone have recommendations on renting a boat in the area? What are the likely patterns on Burt or Mullet (I have never fished either so any guidance would be greatly appreciated!)

The Landings on Indian River rents pontoons & fishing boats so you can check there for availability. In regards to the fishing, I generally fish those lakes in October or in the spring. Last year, some buddies of mine were up there during Labor Day & found most of their fish deeper on drop shot in about 15-25 fow. It really just depends on the weather/water temps, but I've found that you can typically get some shallower action earlier & later in the day. When they were there last year it was sunny & warm. I was up during the first week of October & found fish shallower during the morning on spinnerbaits but then had to locate them deeper with DS, jigs, & crankbaits. We didn't put many fish in the boat but did get some quality fish. Late September can be tricky because fish are generally between summer & fall patterns so it can be tough. I'd probably just start shallower around points & humps & gradually work deeper until you find some fish. Easier said than done I know, but you always have a great chance at catching a slobasaurus in those lakes. Good luck.
Thanks! Hoping those boats have electronics or I may end up doing a lot more fishing than catching :-)
Got the place on Mullet. Also got a pontoon boat. Found a few lake maps to provide general guidance.
Anyone have any recommendations on locations and techniques to try?
The bay where the Pigeon river dumps in was almost a 1st place spot for us last september and out front of Mullet creek.
