Title: Lake James, IN
Post by: Duke on May 01, 2007, 04:11:04 PM
Fished a small rally Sunday that had a limit of 1 fish. I was shocked to fight a tough bite. I only caught 2 keepers and both came off of beds. The first fish weighed only 1.7# and the other was 2.16# To explain how tough it was. Out of 27 guys, my fish was good enough 3rd place. I believe only 8 guys even weighed in.

My first keeper came from a channel and the second came off a small backwater. I caught another dozen shorts on jerkbaits and wacky worms. Water temp was 55 on main lake, and 58-60 in channels. Lots of fish in channels, but very few on beds. There were a lot of abandoned beds - I imagine they were on, but left with the cold front last week.

Pictured below is my 2.16# fish.
