Did a 1/2 day on lk st clair today and took "top gun" from LSCN.net we each got about a dozen smallmouth the fun part was getting my butt handed to me by a rookie who has only bassed fished a little bit, he got about 19 lbs to my 13 lbs :D
I got out as well today, since gas prices were so high i decided to stick around close to home.Went to belleville lake and skunk out. With so many dead fish floating around 30-45 minutes was all i could handle.I could tell it was the virus effect, they had all the red blood spots all over them.
I want to go back home to TX now. :(

?????
i to stuck close to home and also to bellevile. was there from 10 to 1:30 and also skunked. did not see any dead fish....was fishing around rawsonville bridge area, an area between the two main bridges and a couple of mid-lake spots. water stained pretty good w/temps around 57 degs. but boat ran well for 1st outing so was pleased w/that.
I was at sandy's marina...by the boat docks...Most were crappies, one or two walleyes and what looked like a few dead white bass or something i really wasn't sure what species some of them were. They were all pretty small though. Not sure why they were just in one area, but it looked like the current brought them close to the banks.I was there from around 9'ish to 10am.
they were all over by the corner of the lake close to where the dam is...it was just one corner that i saw them at.
That would be a bummer if vhs is in bellville.
went to erie this morning and got two smallmouth and two large mouth, I trailered up to st clair and put in at 1 pm and pulled out at 4:30 got 10 smallmouth 5 lm and 4 pike, best 5 sm would go about 18 to 19 lbs, the biggest was a 5.7 on the scale with a couple 4's, super nice day to be out.

Anyone can report Fish kills here @ DNR-FISH-Report-Fish-Kills@michigan.gov
The wind will push the dead fish to what ever shoreline. So Sad!
