Is it due anytime soon with the late spring??? Thanks hoping to hit it when we climb the hill the 22nd ;)
I was out on the Chippewa river( near midland) last night and the hatch is going on there.
It has begun!
I hear the smallies are having their 'slurpies' about now ....
How do you approach fishing during the hatch? Old timers have told me not to even waste my time fishing during this time bc they will not bite while the hatch is going on. I have a hard time believing this.
popper, fluke, or tube. Don't cast until you see a swirl.
thanks !!

It worked for me on Green one time. Thanks for confirming it Mark. At first I thought the gentle swirls were panfish...... until i got a good look at a smallie. :)
My best trip have been during the hatch on lake from the Carolina's to MI and Maine. Love it.
They look like Orcas!
I was on Clair yesterday, and saw very few May flys on the surface.
Hot Diggied Dog :D putting the big landing net in the boat ;D
