Title: On Board Charging System
Post by: Dan on May 10, 2014, 08:41:56 PM
In a three bank charger would 20 amps do the job? Cabelas has one for $200. I have a Stealth Charging system and love it, but my buddy needs one and wants to stay more in the $200+ range.

I purchased the cabelas three bank before last season. I have had zero issues with it.

I have a Minn Kota 3 bank charger MK-330D.  I've had it for about 3 years now and it works flawlessly.  I've had others but none as good as this.  If I were buying another, I'd buy another Minn Kota.

Since this isn't for me, as I said I have a Stealth Charging system which is awesome, I need to watch the price. How much was that Minn Kota? Thanks for the input.

I think I paid $299 for it back a few years. Minn Kota actually was the first manufacturer of these so called smart chargers. It's worked flawlessly for me. If it lasts another 5 years or so I would say it was worth every penny.

You can get a mk315d on sale for around 160 or so on-line at the minn kota outlet store.  I just picked one up from cabelas for $180.  Had one in my last boat for five years and it worked perfect every time.
