Got a few late changes from members who can't make it now. Only 1 change that affects 2 boaters - taking me out of the 3 person boat and moving me to VinceR since his non-boater can't make it now due to family scheduling.

As far as I remember that is correct. But... since no one else really carried any drama too far... you get to keep your title! ;D

19 something came in first. 18 something in 2nd. Two tied with 17.6 for third/fourth. My boat came in 5th with 17.4

Big bass was 4-10 (smallie) I believe and 2nd was 4-4 largemouth.

Big Ugly was a 7 something Sheephead

Many people when largemouth fishing due to the muddy waters. We did the mile roads and caught a couple nice fish on tubes. The shallower we went the small the fish. We finished the day by the GP Yacht club and same story there too. 7-8ft water held the bigger fish. Our best 5 went 3.4, 3.8, 3.8, 3.12, 3.1. We couldn't find that 4+ fish that would have really helped us. We caught a bunch of fish though and had a good day on the water. The ride back was a little rough as the wind picked up throughout the day.

My report

Well this last Saturday for the Madwags tourney I decided to head out and have an awesome day on the water with
Mike S.
Just before I left the house I thought I might need a hand towel for the day to clean my hands after all of the largemouth I was going to be catching... I knew the water was crap so..... I clipped the Skeeter hand towel on the red kill switch tether. Then headed out to meet up with Dartag at McDonald just off metro parkway.

There we talked and I picked up 2 bags of ice for the day. Next on to the ramp. I arrive and say hi to the guys and start unhooking the boat from the trailer it's then I notice. The towel must have blown out of the boat and when it did it took the red kill switch and the boat keys along with it.  Not having a spare set of keys I was done for the day.

This is where Ralph comes in. He has been trying to sell me a Ranger boat from the day I first meet him. I was already a Skeeter guy.. He knows this. But he still try's... When he answered the phone it was "Hi Don what does your boat need" it's like he already knew what was going on.... lol maybe someone called him I'm not sure but it was funny... I told him what had happen we laughed. That when he said you know "my Ranger has this key pad thing that never blows out of the boat"

Ralph bent over backwards to get me back running again. I had a replacement set of keys by 4 pm the same day... he went well above and beyond for that I thank you very much  Ralph Blassy (FOB)

I've always said I would rather quit fishing before I owned a Ranger. (It a personal grudge thing) but I future if  in the need for a new or newer boat I will be up knocking on the door at wonderland talking to Ralph.

If he helps people that aren't his costumers this good I can imagine if I were one it would only be better...

I woud have posted sooner but Ive been sick as a dog...

I cannot believe that I completely missed this event this year ???

It has been a long, crazy, spring for me and I just let it slip my mind that this tourney is so early in the year.  I am seriously bummed!

We've been talking about it for months!! :)

It was almost the nicest weather day ever. Except for that growing breeze that seemed to turn in the worst directions on the way in. But it wasn't as bad a hundreds of other rides in over the year. We found clear water farther South and caught enough to make it a very nice day though we also didn't break 4 pounds.

I'll have official results up later this week. I had to rescue mikesmiph's camera but I haven't tried to 'steal' any picture from it yet. I have a few of my own including the Big Ugly 7.19 pound sheepy caught by Ma! It wasn't quite the 30-pounder I was lead to believe by a certian Fishin Pollock! (who called me to ask what the heck it was after they landed it!!) ;D

Matt seriously didn't know what a sheepshead was ?????  Wowza !!!

Yup! Maybe I shouldn't have shared that publicly?!? ::) ooops Oh well... he can blame it on Ma (as long as she doesn't find out!!).

I thought they had sheepshead up North?!? ;D

Actually, I thought the funniest part was TheFishinPollock thinking it weighed 30 lbs!?! If I would have really thought it was that big I would have alerted the MDNR and the Media though! State Record!!

I told Matt they could keep it and eat it but he wasn't biting!

I ain't eatin one of them slimy, snotty , nasty things  ;D  , even though I ate half a suitcase of White Castle cheezy burgers on the way home. ;D

I don't think we have them up here less it is in the bay and I have never caught one there.

Hey ! Fishermen are supposed to lie . Ain't they? ;D  Plus I was way excited Ma got that one her first time fishing a tube on a spincast.  :-[. I knew it would be a winner unless someone brought in  a big muskie

Hamlin has quite a few of them.  10 pounds is about the biggest I've seen there.  I've caught them tight lining a chunk of crawler fishing for bluegills.  Now that's fun on 6 pound test and a light action rod !!!   :)

Muskies aren't in season on St. Clair yet. But, we've had one or two bigger catfish weighed in during past events.

I have no doubt that there's some sheepshead somewhere in the Bays. They're pretty much everywhere else in the Great Lakes and most connected, or previously connected waters.

There are a ton of Sheepshead in Lake Charlevoix so I am pretty sure they are in the bays.....

I realize that you guys had probably been talking about it since the show, but I have been so busy that I have probably not spent more than 5 minutes on this board (or any) since the Swap Meet.

Heck, I have only been fishing twice (in MI, plus one day in KY) this entire year.

Sad how work, family and chores get in the way of a man's passion.... :-[

We are almost out of the woods with my Stepdad. I hope to be doing some catch up these next couple days to get to the results and some pictures finally.
