Title: Sanford 5-6-14
Post by: gmetime24 on May 07, 2014, 11:51:15 AM
Went out to Sanford lake yesterday after works for a little over 4 hours of fishing. Water clarity is still really poor. The main lake water temps are all over the place, as cold as 50 and the warmest spot was 57. We boated 8 smallies and a few largemouth. Biggest two smallmouth went 18.5 and 20 inches with the 20" weighing just shy of 4.5 lbs.  All the other smallies went between 14-16 inches. Largemouth were all undersized which is kinda weird for this lake

Key was the fish in the wind, slowly work cranks and drag tubes and other softplastics on the bottom. We also lost a couple good smallmouth near the boat. This lake is lining up to be on fire the next couple weeks!!

Good info Tom.  I should be wrapping up my trolling motor install today or tomorrow.  Then to clean all the tools off the boat, load with rods and gear, then hook it up to the muffs to make sure it will fire up.  Hoping to be ready for the late spring action :)

Thanks for the report! Was wondering how it was out there as of late. They still relating to the main lake then, and out deep or are they coming up a bit?  I was thinking about heading out on Friday to see what I could drum up.
