Whitmore wasn't open yet today when I went by, but the ice has turned that color where it won't be long.

Nichewah in South Lyon, and Sandy Bottom are melting around the edges.

I saw some scaup on Nichewah bottoms up in the little open water that there was.

It won't be long now!

I'm hoping that the Detroit River will warm up enough for Easter break that I can go down there and try for some spawining Walleye.
(If it's sacreligeous to speak of Walleye on a Bass forum I apologize).

Sanford lake is open near the tree farm (good pike/musky area) if you know where that is. 2 private launches have open water if you can get permission. DNR launch is all iced in still, old erskines launch on water rd should have open water to launch next couple days.

Sitting here in Alabama and it got up to 84 today and that's north Alabama. Went to Big Bob Gibson's in Decatur yesterday for barbecue and afterwards talked to some bass guys at one of the ramps on the Tennessee River and he said that the bucks are just coming up in the shallows. He was amazed that we have a closed season for bass. Said he never heard of a closed season for bass. He was running a Stratos and has been fishing tournaments all winter on the Tennessee. Went to the Bass Pro in Nashville last Thursday. Nice store set up just like Auburn Hills though. Couple of pros in the parking lot with their rigs. Looked like FLW guys. One had his name on the boat but didn't recognize it. Think it was Clay Dryer or Dyer. Went to my favorite bass shop here in Athens, West End. It's a  place with a 40 foot aisle of nothing but Lucky Crafts. Never been in a place that had this king of selection. Much more than Bass Pro or Cabllas.
