It's about as simple as it gets, and cheap too at about $240. Only REAL issue I see is that it kind of sticks up and would get in the way if you wanted to skip jigs or senkos under shallow docks. Might shorten the life of the trolling motor bracket/locking mechanism too.
What do you guys think? For the number of times I actually fish shallow enough to use a shallow water anchor it might be an option.

I wonder how it will handle rough water. Looks like it's well thought out. Might also harken a new sport of boat jousting.
looks like it would be in the way almost constantly.

In less than about 6' of water I would agree.
On a day when a lot of boats are out ,or rough windy water. How much abuse is the trolling motor shaft and the motor Mount going to take? Great idea, but it needs it's own Mount.

This
Watched the video and it would be a cheap alternative to a power pole but it definitely will get in the way of skipping casts when your not anchored. Cool idea but you'd have to alter your casting to accommodate.
I made my own last year. There is another thread on here with photos. It works great in shallow water. I dont have the set screw on mine so the pole can move up and down in the mount. I only got the 8 foot pole. 10 foot would. I use it mainly for bed fishing on my lake
Nope. Not on my boat.
not very shallow water friendly it will be in the way
