Title: Fishing lodge somewhere warm
Post by: Hollada on December 08, 2013, 08:37:39 PM
Does anyone know of any place on guntersville, lake fork, Florida, Texas, etc that caters to fisherman.  Looking for a 3-4 day trip with lodging, boats, etc.  thinking about doing a long weekend in jan or feb.

I could also stay at a hotel and just get a guide for a few days.   Let me know if you have any recommendations either way.

There are some great lodges on lake fork. Check out VRBO. There are some really special properties on there.

Roland Martin's resort is a really nice place on Lake Okeechobee.  I used to drive over there when I would visit my mom in Fort Myers and rent one of their boats for the day.  A lot of guides run out of there during the winter months.

Byron Velvick owns a fishing lodge on Lake Amistad too that might be nice. Amistad is still a pretty good place to fish for bass last I heard. There's probably some fishing reports on the Internet somewhere if you Google it.

Thanks for the feedback.  Need to see how January and February look on the work calendar, but definitely need to get somewhere warm for a few days!
