Seems every year while fall smallie fishing on the lakeshore lakes we manage an incidental fish or two. This year it seems to be lake trout. Got a couple yesterday hopping a smallie beaver around some serious structure on the bottom in 20 FOW or so. This one put up a pretty good fight for a laker... thought I had a big pike at first. I did catch a couple of nice big pike too, and some smallies!
Over the last couple of years I've boated kings, coho, steelhead, and now lakers on bass baits/tackle. You know what they say: "Lakeshore fishing is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna to get!"
You HAVE to love fall fishing!
looks like a candidate for the grill or the smoker ;)
