Title: If you live near Eagle Lake Edwardsburg I need to hear from you ASAP
Post by: djkimmel on September 17, 2013, 01:12:40 AM
If you live near Eagle Lake in Edwardsburg Michigan than you probably know the MDNR has dropped their plans to purchase land for what could have been an awesome new public access site potentially dramatically improving public access to 4 PUBLIC lakes.

This primarily happened because the local township 'board of commissioners' or whatever they are voted against the plan stating the MDNR's plan did not meet their definition of a park (yeah, whatever lake association people - IT'S NOT YOUR LAKE! The lakes belong to everyone in Michigan!).

If you live in or near that area, PARTICULARLY, if you live within said township - begins with an 'o', please, please contact me (http://glbass.com/contact) as soon as possible. I talked to the MDNR Director about this and I have a few questions that locals would make the best sources for.

I'm not counting this excellent project dead just yet. With a little information and maybe some elbow grease we can put this project back on the table. Interested? Contact me! (http://glbass.com/contact) Soon please.

Maybe I should start a 'make a lake association member board unhappy' board for things like this? ;D Just kidding about that part. Just like any other part of life, there are good and fair persons who live on lakes and find themselves in a lake association. I always appreciate hearing from any of them! Always!

I don't mean I don't want to hear from other interested parties about Eagle Lake of course (or Christiana - Juno - Painter)! After all, these lakes belong to EVERYONE in Michigan and we are more than happy to share them with anglers from other places too.

Right now, I just need some local, specific information about how a few things work in that area.

In case you're wondering, here is the location for sale that supposedly wouldn't be a 'park' (like that has anything to do with it anyway!!! ::))
