Title: map card, PC software or both
Post by: bob o on September 12, 2013, 02:42:07 PM
Do you use either plug in map cards for your onboard units or download waypoints from your pc onto your onboard unit? I think it would be a very useful tool to have the maps available at your desk or your laptop to preview or review your days fishing trip. but on the other hand a very detailed map at the console and or the bow is also needed.  ::)

I use map cards on the boat.. I use Humminbird Pc in conjuction with google earth to manage my waypoints.. I also have Lakemaster PC software but I havent used it much lately now that I have HB PC..

If you havent used HB pc with google earth it is pretty cool....just click on the waypoint from the file and it automatically boots google earth and shows you the location in the satellite image..

Definitely get mapping cards for your units. You can get navionics on a laptop for cheap if you want to look at the lakes.

You need to make another post Genie. At least before you go fishing again. See how many you have?
