I'm looking for some tournaments or one-time contests to join with my son. Anyone aware of any within an hour or so of the Flint area? I'm from Fenton but don't mind a drive. My son is 5 and really getting into fishing, so I'm not looking for anything crazy.

I apologize for not responding sooner. I think it's admirable that you are spending the time you are with your son. He's only going to be 5 once. My son is going to be 13 and I spend all kinds of time with him. He's a travel soccer player.

Here is a tip also. Post more. More people will respond if you become more active.   8)

Tournaments during the evening during the week are really what you want. He's not going to spend 8 hours in the boat with you. I know this from experience. The 3 hour NBAA Tournament is perfect. Small membership fee for you and it's free for him as he is fishing with you. Go to www.nbaa-bass.com (http://www.nbaa-bass.com) and checkout tournaments in your area. There are a quite a few. Even at 13 they won't spend 8 hours in the boat....... ;)
