Well sorry about not getting a report up last week, I was pretty busy last week closing on my wife and I 1st home and getting moved. So I hope this report makes up for. Overall from the reports we are getting the fishing has been pretty good for many. The fish seem to be sitting transition zones and areas. They seem to be hanging in these area longer this year. So without further or do the Fishing Report.
Walleye: From all the reports we have gotten it feels like the walleye are everywhere on the lake right now. We have had bass guys who have been catching limits of walleye casting cranks straight out from the 400 club in 7 to 8 FOW. The fish that have been coming into the shop have been averaging 3 to 4 lbs. You want the bait to run right at the tops of the weeds in that depth. Further out from there in 10 to 12 FOW guys have had success pulling harness on in-line weights. There has also been a few reports from down by the sail boat buoys in the same depth range catching walleye also.Down in the Dumping grounds area guys have been catching fish, but the fish have been smaller in the 13 to 15 inch range. Guys are running In-lines, bottom bouncers and 3-way rigs and running harness.

There has been some promising reports coming from the South Channel/Gull Island area of guys getting some nice fish in that area. This is a classic early summer location for the walleye so these fish should be there for a few week. The Canadian waters have also been giving up some nice walleye also, so if you are wanting to get away from the weekend boat traffic maybe try those areas on the Queen side. The St. Clair river is also giving some nice fish also from Deckers all the away up to Marrysville we have heard reports of guys finding fish.
Bass: Some of the locals have been saying they are having a hard time finding those 20lb plus bags of smallies. They have been finding lots of 3 lbers. If your in a smaller boat take a look at the 6 to 7 fow areas that drop off into the 10 fow. Try throwing Softplastic jerkbaits and running shallow square bills just over top of the weeds for both large and smallmouth bass.

In the 10 to 12 FOW areas guys have been throwing a lot of dropshot baits such has Ribster, Dreamshots, Eire Darter, X-zone Slammers, Fin-s Minnow, X-Shad etc etc. These baits are in the 3 to 4 inche size. Guys have also been throwing tubes, Swimbaits and 4 inch Grubs. There has been a few guys doing ok with spinnerbaits and hard jerkbaits also when there is a chop on the water.
Canadian waters open up this Saturday.
Perch: Guys have been finding some nice size perch in the 7 to 10 fow off Gino's. You do have to work for them in this area but they are there. Guys have also been reporting some perch out near the shipping channel around buoy 27 area. There has also been a few reports of guys off 10 and 11 mile road finding a some perch down there detailed info wasn't not giving for this area. My guess is to work the same depth has up Gino's
Muskie: There has been a lot muskie spotted in the area of the spillway north to Huron Point for those casting for them. Try casting the 7 fow cabbage beds.
Catfish: The spillway is still giving up fish the avg size has gone down some since the water levels have started to come back down.
There is a few new baits we just got in the shop I want to highlight here really quick. We just got fully restocked on the Fin-s Minnow and also added the brand new Goby color that was just released. Lunker City also just released 3 inch Ribster, and new bait called the Grubster. Both of these baits should sever guys well on the lake right now.
