New schedule is posted. Good lakes. Only bad thing is the Orion tournament falls on the same day as the Oakland Motor City Inland challenge. I would think the directors especially ones in the same areas as each other would look at other schedules or talk about the dates so they are not compeating for the same boats. Instead of having two on the same day why not move one to Sunday or something. Seems they would have better turnouts and then payouts for the tournaments. Makes it hard to try and fish more than one division. I wish they would get a little better at this. Guess you can't have your cake and eat it too.
I will email the director and bring this to his attention. I know as a director myself, I spend alot of time trying not to schedule my tournments on top of another division. Sometimes it is hard as there are so many tournaments and you have to pick a date and go with it. I know for me I hate making guys choose between tournaments. I will see if he realizes the date and he may have just had to go with it. Hope to see you at one or the other.
I know as a director myself I also try to work around other tournaments, sometimes these things cant be helped and other times we do make mistakes and dont realize what we have done. Maybe by silverminnow contacting the director we can figure out which one it is.
I emailed the director and will let you know what I find out. I asked him to either email me back or post on the site. Like I said sometimes it is really hard to pick a date that doesn't conflict with someone, but I am sure he will get back to me on it.
Hey gents,
I am the director of the Motor City division. Every year I set my schedule around BFL, NBAA St.Clairs and Federation. It is almost impossible to miss everything. I would like to talk to the director of the Oakland 1 on 1 division about our over lap. I have already talked with the ramps of my division and provided my schedule over a month ago to Jack. Matter of fact it is posted on this forum. It just hurts both of our trails to make guys chose a division. Heck I want to fish this 1 on 1 division. It sounds awesome.
Please contact me if you can (586) 291-6367
Thanks,
George
Hey George, I tried to call you on the # that you gave and it says that it is not working. Give me a call 248-830-0278 and I will get you in touch with the 1 on 1 director. I wanted to fish them as well but everyone is on a FOM date that I am fishing with Derek. I am looking forward to this year as we were beat out of first by a good team last year but they have to know we are coming back ;D ;D ;D Yeah, they know who they are.... See ya.
I know how hard it can be to schedule around every tournament with as many as there are these days that is nearly impossible to do. I just think it would make turnouts especially for one organization like NBAA to atleast have them a day off or something. Even in NBAA alone it is hard to schedule around all the tournaments they have coming out but when the lakes that are being fished are so close to eachother you are just compeating for the same anglers and in the end each one will probably have smaller fields than what they could have. The Oakland county has two tournaments that conflict one with the Motor City Inland Challenge and one with the Genessee County Challenge. So it just makes it hard for someone to fish more than one trail and actually get to fish all the tournaments to try for the points championship. I thought that is why this division was taking so long to come out because they were waiting on these weekend ones to post there schedules first. Oh well like I said if nothing changes you just have to pick which one you want to fish more I guess and have fun with it. Never the less it will be a fun year. NBAA has some good things coming out. They are headed in the right direction with something for everyone.
I know what you mean about picking and choosing. All of the one on ones are on the same days as the Fishers of Men. I had already committed to fish FOM as we did last year. What a great bunch of guys. Same with NBAA I love directing my division and fishing others again a great bunch. NBAA has alot of good things out there and more to come so in the future we will have more to choose from as well. Like you said pick your game and have fun with it. I just can't wait until we get to the point we get to fish on water. Not that I don't like the ice but I miss my boat!!! :'( :'( :'( Hope to see you out there at one of the tournaments.

Yeah, we do know who you are. If I have to loose this year I sure hope that it is to you.
Well, if nothing else I hope we have as much fun as last year trying to beat you guys. I just wish we were going with you to the championship. Thats ok you guys go and show them how it is done. Can't wait until June. ;D ;D ;D
i've decided to try this one out for the season also besides tuesday weeknite. curious to know who'll be the competition??
Hey Dave,
I would love to fish all three of them but the schedule conflicts with other tourneys. I heard that they may be changing atleast one of the dates. I will be at the opening tourney on Lobdell for sure and we will see after that. Should be fun I gurantee they will have a good sized field for the opening tourney on Lobdell.
hoping then the orion is one they might change. checking this a.m., found out our club secord lk. tourney is that weekend & i'll be up there pre-fishing on saturday. our they (nbaa) still looking at that change?
maybe lobdell opener we can tandem up there together. do the "buddy system" - i'll drop your boat, you drop my boat. let me know.
I'll be at the Lobdell TX
Speaking of Lobdell, we recently moved to the area and hear quite a bit about Lobdell. Where is it located and what is the water clarity like?
Hey Dave, I can drop you in not a problem. I will probably be the first one there in the morning. My girlfriend lives right down the street from the launch takes me all of 2 minutes to get there.
Lobdell is in Argentine. The DNR launch is about 1/2 mile south of the Argentinerd./ Silver Lake Rd. Intersection. Over the past 5 years the zebra mussels have really cleared up the water. At tmes there can be good weed cover in between the treatments the lake association applies. Good bass population, but it gets hammered by tournaments and jet skis.
I see the 1on1 oakland county division got some dates changed. The only bad part is that they rescheduled the first lobdell tourney for the same day as the Genessee county challenge on lake Fenton. those lakes are right down the road from eachothe and definatly compeating for the same anglers. One of them should move the tourney to atleast the next day to get full fields.
i was hoping for the change to be the 7/14 one. guess i'll have to miss that one. 6/23 still is alright for me, actually works out better.
maybe they should move 6-23 to CASS that is quite a distance from fenton. closer to home for me also. :) :)
Can someone tell me more about the 1 on 1 Oakland County League ? Sounds interesting ? Details appreciated !! :o
