I can see where it would work well for pitching.....
Any comments??  I am new so it may be old news..But I might give it a try in practice.

I was watching some fishing show on The Outdoor Channel just recently and they were targeting smallmouth. The guy on the show said he prefered to fish them that way. He mentioned that most of the time a fish is going to try and pick up a craw fish with out getting into the pinchers, rigging it this way the skirt (simulating the pinchers) is on the bottom and the head of the tube is towards the the back.  Just about every fish they caught were hooked really good in the corner of the mouth. He also said if you use a tube jig head, in which the head fits snuggly into the tube opening you can add a small piece of foam in the cavity to cause the Head (rear in the case) to float up. Or you could put a rattle inside. He also mentioned you could fill the cavity full of scent so it slowly leaks out. They had some under water shots of it, and it had some great looking action crawling it along the bottom. I definately took mental note of it to try in the spring.

***NOTE***  I typed this not actually reading the posted link and just looking at the picture briefly, I didnt notice the weight in the end until after posting this, so its a bit different from what I was talking about.
