Don't know exactly what the weather is on the east side but it is pretty nasty over here. Was thinking of going to Mattesons today to see Denny, but I am waiting to see what happens in the next couple hours. It's only 40 miles from my house but I went out to the store this morning and the snow isn't all that deep yet, but the visibility at times is almost zilch. Had to watch the mailboxes to see where the edge of the road was. It currently is 9.7 degrees and is snowing quite hard. TV describe the roads as treacherous.
dan do you know if at all what time denny's going to speak........or when the shows going to be over............thanx
According to the website here he's scheduled to speak at 1:00 PM.
I know it's a bit late now but Battle Creek is in a complete white out. I've heard 131 in the Grand Rapids area is actually closed down. Might just be rumor, but if I had read this about 3 hours ago I'd have told you to stay home. It's not worth it. It's just too dangerous out there right now. I'm not looking forward to my drive home from guard drill.

Driving there in the morning was a peace of cake...
Driving home at the end of the day... well, that's story in itself. I got lost in the whiteout, which was worse right around Gun Lake. I ended up on a road that made a 90 degree turn and if there were any signs, I wouldn't have been able to see them anyway - I couldn't read any of the signs I could tell where anywhere - I ended up driving off the road into a field before I realized the road was not there anymore.
I somehow swung around and went back up onto the road and found it again after it turned. I still don't know how in my car, I didn't end up wintering over.
I finally found a road way south that I recognized again when I got into a clear stretch and ended up coming home for the southerly end of the county instead of the upper-middle part. It felt like I'd driven 50 miles, but it wasn't very far at all - things were going slow.
What would life be without a little adventure? We actually had a good turnout and a lot of fun, fish stories and food over at Matteson Marine.
Glad to hear you made it safely. From all the reports I heard that area of the state was just hammered. Very dangerous. You are fortuante and I'm glad to hear you eventually found something resembling a road! ;D
131 was nasty from what I heard. Everyone else make it safely home?

Got on 131 around 11:30am to head from Kalamazoo to Gun Lake...Went 3 miles - Couldn't see a thing and turned around.
You can have the baddest truck around but if you can't see anything , ALL BETS ARE OFF !!! ;D
That's Michigan for you,

I just wanted to say thanks to those who braved the elements and came up. We had a surprisingly good turnout on Saturday and even sold a few boats. One customer came all the way from Battle Creek and bought a new 519 with his family.
Randy Ramsey made it from Battle Creek for a seminar and Mark Martin did a great seminar as well. Denny got in fine on Friday night but his flight was cancelled on Saturday so he had to spend the night in Grand Rapids. I hope he will consider coming back again. He was saying that he got hit hard with the ice storm in Missouri and had to cancel a flight to another open house. He hasn't had good luck with weather this year. We will plan this again for next year and we'll try to get Denny again for those who missed him this year. He is awesome, what a professional.
I left the store at 3:15 and had to take a buddy home to Gowen so I drove north through it and then had to drive south through it. I got to Kalamazoo at 7:30 and called it quits.
Thanks again for those who came and thanks also to NBAA and CATT for having reps on hand. Next time, better weather I promise!
