Any of you P Line users know what this Halo stuff is all about? It costs more so surely it must be better! :D
I was looking at their site. I wondered about the color.
They claim that it's invisible underwater. But it's a kind of flurescent green color. Does it change underwater like the transition?
I am going to try Halo this year on my drop shot and shakyhead rig.
Until I use it I can not give an opinion other than the data you have already taken from their web site and advertising.
I am going to try it this summer. It's supposed to be softer and have less memory than other floro.

P-Line Halo is a "co-fluoride", meaning it has two different types of 100% fluorocarbon crystals extruded together. This allows for a 100% fluorocarbon line that is very abrasion resistant, yet much more manageable in terms of handling on the reel. I wouldn't worry about the color. It looks bright on the spool, but when you peel off a little line, you can barely tell it's green. Contrary to popular belief, flurocarbon is not 100% invisible in the water, so the pale mist green color will only help camoflage the line underwater.
I'm the P-Line sales rep here in Michigan, and I've had some sample spools to fish with since August. It's held up very well and it's noticeably softer than the standard 100% FC lines on the market.
As a sidenote, you guys might also want to check out the other new line from P-Line called Evolution. It's a copolymer that's 4 times as abrasion resistant than the CXX P-line (which is alread extermemly abrasion resistant), and it has less stretch than any other copolymer line on the market. It's also smaller diameter and has less memory than the CXX, which tends to be wiry. This line should be great for deep water finesse presentations where you want low stretch and extreme abrasion resistance. It retails for around $9-$10 for a filler spool.
One more thing--be sure to take advantage of the $6 mail in rebate when you purchase any 2 filler spools of P-Line.
OK, I'm done with my sales pitch! LOL! ;D
I got to try the evolution for a few days before the water froze up. I used it in deep water like you mentioned. Good line it is very strong like the cxx. It felt like I was fishing a really sensative mono, handled great no problems. Didn't knick up as much as a floro would.

OK BrianP, you sold me.....but you better get to Lunker's before they give your spot on the wall to that other Brian guy!! ;)
So from what you're saying it sounds like the Evolution would work well on my tube rod, and wouldn't be bad for Senko type fishing, or for drop shotting, and shakey worms.
Low stretch, abrasion resistant for the rock piles.
Sensitive. Is it as sensitive as a braid?
I"ve been using braid as the main line on my tube rod, and then using a 2' for so fluorocarbon leader attached with a snap swivel.
How about the memory on spinning reels. ( a problem I found with some of the earlier fluorcarbons.
What about knot strength? I've heard that some of the fluoros don't hold up well and one has to use a fluoro #'ge greater than you might think. I was thinking 8# but was advised to go higher. What do you think?
Nothing will give you the sensativity that straight braid will, but with the swivel and flouro it could be close. When I used evolution I used silicone spray on a rag and pulled it off the spool the right way and had no problmes. That along with flipping your bail manually will eliminate 99% of your problems. I also tie a polymar and wet the knot, which is the most important thing. If your using a good flouro line like p-line 8# is more than enough. Most peoples flouro experience is limited to vanish which has the problems you mentioned.

Fiker--Evolution would be great for everything you mentioned. Like MBell said, nothing is probably as sensitive as straight braid, but Evolution is very sensitive. Low memory on both Halo and Evolution.
I have also found knot strength to be very good on both as well. Just remember to wet the knot, especially with floro. I use a palomar 100% of the time.
I typically use 8-10 lb fluoro for tubes, and 8 lb on DS and can't remember the last time I broke off a fish. But I'm constantly checking my line.
I've had lots of guys tell me they love the Evolution for cranking as well.
Canvsbk--What are you talking about? He can have my spot on the wall! Kevin told me I get the whole end cap! ;D Brian and I are good buddies. I'll just move his stuff to the back on the first day of the show! :D Seriously, Lunkers should be getting their order of the new product hopefully this week.
BryanP - as you promised..Halo has arrived! You may not have that end cap but you're real close now! ;) ;)
Will look for you at the show
You mean I'm out of the corner?!?! LOL!!!!
Not knocking P-Line, because it is my choice line for the last year and going to be for this year, but was listening to Davy Hite's presentation at DNR, and he mentioned that there are no regs on line #age, so P-Line 8# is really the equivalent of most brands 10 or 12. If you look at the diameter, for the most part this is correct. So with that said, I may not go above 10 this year!!!
Who makes a smaller line diameter than p-line? I fish their lighter lines through the ice and for 4lb and down no one makes a smaller diameter per lb rate. I pay attention to these types of things and have noticed that some companies tough line is just their normal line with an underrated label. For example the 6lb tough line will be the normal 8lb line diameter.

That's what Hyte was saying, that P-Line's Floroclear for instance, would say 8 lb. test but would have the diameter of, for instance, Trilene 12 lb. test. I looked at D and R and sure enough, the diameters were a little off until it got to higher line weights. Just my opinion, not trying to wage a war here, because I WILL be using P-Line. I love the way the Floroclear reacts, and will probably be trying the Halo and the Evolution this year.
I'll have to check out the heavier lines, I don't use them as much. I used evolution for two days before it iced up and that stuff is awesome, especially when you consider the price. The new cxx super strong is also some good line. Don't forget they have a $6 rebate this spring if you buy two spools.

I'm picking up some 10# halo as well,i rarely use fluoro except as a leader.I really want to "up" my experience with tubes and senko worms.I believe this will work nicely with a new citica this weekend.
Picked up some 8 lb at BPs fri night. Got there at 7:30, and the 6 lb slot was already empty - damm bps never stocks enough af anything popular. It wasn't really on sale, so I'll just catalog order the rest and get the rebate.
