Have the time to try my hand at making some spinnerbaits. There was a thread, that I now can't find, that talked about it recently. Anybody willing to share what and where to get the materials needed to make some spinnerbaits? Would like to find quality materials to build "Nichols" type spinnerbaits. Thanks
Here's one option for buying materials:
http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/ (http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/)
You will need heads, blades, beads, and clevises.
Janns netcraft is good, staminainc.com is also good but slow on shipping orders. One thing you need to be sure to have is a ball bearing swivel. A ball bearing swivel will account for about 1/2 of the spinner baits cost. The jannsnetcraft swivels are good, you don't have to spend money on the sampos unless you have to. If you call janns they can get someone on the phone if you have any questions. I wouldn't mess with the Skirt making tools, they are a pain. I just tie my skirts like a fly with thread and clear nail polish to seal. That way you can use a lot of flash and fur type fly tying material and get more detailed with your skirts.

Thanks guys, and Joshimoto I found the thread and thank you for your input. I am going to price things out and maybe talk a couple of chuck and winders to split the costs and try and make a few.
D&R sports has all of the stuff you need, it is right next to the fly shop. They have a great supply of heads, bands, blades, and skirt material, in small quantitys.
