Wow, what a morning! Me and a buddy from out of town got out this morning at 6:30 and fished till about 10. We absolutely killed em. Forget shallow fish...we went looking for pre-spawners and we sure found them. We boated 30 fish with my personal best 5 going about 23-24lbs. These fish were FAT and full of eggs. They all came out of 14.5 FOW on a deep edge. We started out fishing deep diving baits and didn't have much success. I was about to pull out of the area when I decided to throw a tube and slow it down. On the first cast I nailed a 4 pounder. For a while we were getting doubles with our best double being a 5 and a 4.5. We drifted out with the wind and the fish just got bigger and bigger. We would reset our drift in 13 FOW and the fish got smaller. All in all it was one of the best mornings of the year.
Heck of a day congrats.
NICE!
