Does anyone know anything about Clearwater tubes???
How do they compare to Xtreme tackle tubes???
They have some on their website that they are clearing out for 7 cents a peice..I was going to buy a few and use them for practice and give them to my wife and kids to throw around.
They also have a very good looking Goby bait.
I know this site is sponsored by Xtreme tackle and he has some great looking stuff, and I will continue to buy a lot of it, but it never hurts to have a little bit of variety in the box.
I've tried their gobies. I like the Poorboy and Snack Daddy gobies better. I have not tried their tubes. I like Xtreme's colors very well.
In gobies I like ISG and Poorboys, and the reps for both are far better fisherman than I'll ever be.
Of the fish I catch probably half of 'em come on a tube. I have some Gitzits that must be at least 25 years old and they still catch 'em. Nichols is my tube of choice but Exteme has some spectacular colors which I intend to add to the pile in the garage real soon.
Last year in yet another moment of weakness I bought a bunch of discounted tubes real cheap. I got what I paid for.
I don't think you would be disappointed with the Clearwater line, they have a ridiculous amount of salt and are pretty soft, hard not to eat them yourself. Ken Miller is the main Michigan Pro Staff member, I'll PM his e-mail address to you, ask him a bunch of questions before you decide. They have been adding quite a few good colors lately.
Another great product is from Case plastics, "Savage" on this board is a good contact for them.
Also take a look at Mizmo tubes, they have all the colors you need for Michigan.

I pour my own tubes so I don't really buy tubes, but I got a clearwater sample pack and they are some good baits. I looked at their new dragging tubes, I have been making these for years great tube. There is another brand that hand pours some good tubes, but the name escapes me. They sell them at bass pro, the soft had poured tubes are callled the pro elite series. Just Can't remember the name right now.

When I was fishing redman in the late 80's tubes were just starting to really come on. I think I was one of only a handful of guys that were fishing them consistently..it looks like they have really taken off since I have been out of fishing. You would think the bass would have them figured out by now.
It looks like drop-shotting is headed in the same direction.
Snack daddy was the name I couldn't remember. You are right, the fish have become accustomed to the tubes and the drop shot. So many times, I pulled into a crowd and cleaned up on the drop shot. Not as easy anymore.

I just got the order from Clearwater tubes in Today..They look pretty good..They even refunded some of my shipping money...They aren't as bulky as some of the other tubes out there so I think the will work great in tough bite situations.
I think I like Xtreme fishing colors better, but I guess I will let the fish decide.
I got almost 300 tubes for less that 40 bucks...I like salt and pepper and they were clearing out of that color...7 cents a peice.
