Title: Thank You Dan Kimmel!!!!
Post by: joshimoto son on January 26, 2007, 12:05:38 PM
Dan,

We realize the time, effort and expenses that you put in to giving us place to talk about bass fishing, meet new people and "get the word out".
We know that you are passionate about the sport of Bass Fishing, and we really appreciate everthing you do.

Because we know nothing like his ever comes for free and that every little bit counts. We recently put a little "charity event" together to help support the things we are passionate about too! Great Lakes Bass.com

Trying to organise this on your website while making it a surprise was not the easiest task, but... I think we succeeded.

We were able to raise $160.00 to help pay for all the expenses that you incur, and hope that it will help keep GLB going!

From all of us at GLB, we want to THANK YOU!

You guys and gals are going to make me cry... there's no crying in bass fishing?!?

I don't know what to say. Thank you so much for being such great people and friends.

You make me want to keep building and improving things because I want you all to keep coming back to see what great and wonderful things you'll do next for fishing and fun and learning and sharing - showing everyone else what anglers and just plain good people are really like. Thank you so much. I can't say that enough.

I'm in, like Team Houston - tell me where and the check's in the mail.

I figure it like this - if I had been at the POKER GAME - my donation to the cause most likely would have been - who knows ??? ???

I will be at the Wonderland deal, so maybe I can give it to someone then?  Also maybe when that DK open happens a nominal entry fee, say $5 could go for this websites  expenses also?

I have joined a lot of online websites dealing with fishing and I must say that this one tops them all. I enjoy the topics, news, meetings and the knowledge. Dan, I must also commend you on a great job. This site has a great group of people. I hope in the upcoming year I find time to see more of all of you and to share some great fishing stories..Peace...Mike Huston

I wouldn't mind donating a little money too.  I have joined a bunch of sights like this and this is the best one.  I won't name any names but on other sites if your are not a regular and ask a question no one responds.  I have had a lot of questions answered on this sight without the "da didn't;t you know that."  We were all new at one time or another.(No such thing as a dumb question)  Living in Grand Rapids is like living on a island, no one here tournament fishes.  I do not understand the big disconnect with fishing over here???
Dan, I commend you on your knowledge of the sport.  You read the article's, you know the biology of the fish and the lakes.  You have assembled a great team of moderator's that are always willing to help.  You are diffidently a leader in the Business of bass fishing.

You have pledge just tell me when and were.

Thanks,
Scott

First off I would like to also thank Dan, he's been great help with answering questions and i am very glad something like this is at my fingertips. I agree with Team Houston about the DK open, i know there has been some talk about it, maybe the winner can donate back the money to the site to help Dan out and keep our site running? Just a thought. If my team were to win, my money is going to you Dan for all your help. Thanks again.

All I can say is Dan, you're the MAN!!! 8)

Thanks for creating and running such a phemonenal site.  I have learned so much for you and all the other members on this site and have also had a lot of laughs.  I make sure that I check in on GLBass.com each day so I don't miss out on any important information or fall behind in reading posts.

Thanks again Dan and hopefully I will see you at the Lansing Fishing Show.

You all make the work (a lot more fun than my day job, kind of therapeutic) well worth the effort!!! You also provide a great deal of the information and entertainment. THANKS!!!

I'm continually excited about seeing how far and how good things can get. Lots of plans. Lots of good stuff to come.

I want to be sure I get in on the plaudits as well and will send in my donation to whomever is collecting. Just let me know an address. I wouldn't know what to do if I wasn't checking this forum three or four times a day. It's mental health. Hey maybe my insurance will kick in some cash as well. I too, have seen Dan in action at hearings that I have attended where he's been involved. IMO he's the reason there is an early season for bass in Michigan!!!!

Dan, LUMBERLEO - I'm trying to figure out how to bring the east, west and sw together - believe me (I can't forget the north either - things a picking up up there). It's important for the future.

Dan - where did you get that quote at the bottom of your post - that is an awesome quote? And so true.

Before my knees wore out I use to run a lot. I believe I got that quote from a mileage log I was using. I don't recall who came up with the line, but I too have liked what it has to say. I'll have to go through my old logs and try and find its origin.

To all that did not make it to the poker party and has stated that they would like to help this website along with a donation.

Here is a link that provides an address to send a check or money order (No cash) to, please be sure to write down somewhere that it is a donation for GLBass.com

http://www.greatlakesbass.com/fishing/contact.html

I really wished that we had a better way of getting the word out that we were trying to raise a little money for Dan.

What we did was ask people on the forum who would be interested in playing a little card game, and from that list we PMed them to let them know what we were doing.

From the replies, Brian's house was close to capacity, therefore we did not see the need to continue looking for more participants.

I really hope that did not hurt anyones feeling or makes them feel left out.

Again, Dan is such a great guy and we wanted to do a little something nice and even though he won't tell you where to send any money because he is just TOO modest. I on the other hand do not have a problem with it.

Thanks everyone, you too make this site what it is supposed to be.

Dan is the man!  Not only because of the time you spend on this forum, but everything else you contribute to the sport.  From working with the DNR to your heading up the TBF.  Now, I am not sure how you do it,  but I am sure appreciative that you do. (I still believe there are two of you.)

Plus, with all that...you are still a really great guy. :)

Thanks Dan.

Come to think of it I think I saw Dan up on stage at the Novi show and when I went by the combat fishing booth he was there and when I went by the TBF booth he was there and when I went by the NBAA booth he was there. Just gets you thinking......

Thanks Dan for all that you do and you will be receiving some helpful contributions from me......

Was he live or was he memorex???

Telling my age there.

Anything to donate money to Dan in the furtherance of this site is always a good thing. Proud of you guys!!  :'(

Sorry Dan I dont play poker so I didnt donate.   >:(

I will however be making my donations at the DK opens.   I still think we should all chip in a coupe extra bucks at the tourney for him to put in the fund.  He's too modest to accept it so I think it would be in his best interest that we threaten to dump him out in the middle of the lake if he doesnt accept.  If he does accept, I'm not opposed to still dumping him in the middle of the lake just for giggles.   :P 8) :-*

Just let me take my wallet out first so I don't soak any important papers... my double-naught spy certificate, Little Rascals fan club member card... things like that.
